Detroit News Removes Anti-Male Ad

Recently I asked you to protest the Detroit News' anti-male Valentine's Day ad pictured above. The ad appeared on the front page of the Detroit News website. It urges men to buy the women in their lives sufficient Valentine's Day gifts or they'll get a punch in the face. The ad shows a woman punching a man, the man has a black eye, and the caption reads, "Don't let this be her response."

Soon after our Action Alert went out the Detroit News was deluged with protesters, and they removed the ad within a couple of hours. We commend the Detroit News for acting so quickly. Thanks to all of you who contacted the paper to protest.
